Setting up alias patterns

RB9 only

RB9 can automatically add hyperlinks in PDF transcripts to related exhibits, so your clients can view exhibits in context by clicking the links in the transcript. These links are called aliases, and can be either words or phrases used in transcripts to reference the exhibits.

If your exhibit file names and exhibit references in transcripts follow a pattern, for example files and references are numbered consecutively (file names like EX01, EX02, and transcript references like Exhibit 1, Exhibit 2), save production time by setting up those patterns before producing hyperlinked transcripts.

  1. Setup > Link Exhibits Patterns
  2. Any existing patterns appear in the Link Exhibits Patterns window. Click New.
  3. In the New Link Exhibits Patterns window:
  4. Click Save >
NOTE: Creating patterns on the fly

In addition to setting up these default patterns, you can create patterns for individual transcripts that have their own exhibit references that do not fit your general patterns. When linking exhibits to a PDF transcript, if any file names do not fit your patterns, you can create custom patterns for that transcript. Patterns set up in individual transcripts are not saved in your Link Exhibits Patterns database.

TIP: How to manage exhibit linking patterns

To edit an existing pattern: Click the hyperlinked File Name Pattern in the Link Exhibits Patterns window. In the View Link Exhibits Patterns window, click Edit. Edit the fields as desired, then click Save.

To delete an existing pattern: Click the hyperlinked File Name Pattern in the Link Exhibits Patterns window. In the View Link Exhibits Patterns window, click Delete. Click Yes in the popup window that appears.
