Creating .dymo templates
RB9 only
If you have installed the DYMO Connect application on your computer (see Setting up for online label printing), you can create label templates with the .dymo extension.
Continued from Creating DYMO label templates.
- Launch DYMO Connect, and click
New.
- In the Printer field, select your printer in the dropdown (if it doesn’t appear, click Don't see your printer? and follow the troubleshooting instructions).
- Select the Label Type for your template by clicking the field’s dropdown, then selecting the label option that matches the dimensions and set-up of the DYMO labels you want to print.
- Click:
- The label type you want to use in the Templates pane, then click one of the different layout styles that appear in the main area. (Click
on any template to see a zoomed-in version of the label style.)
- The blank option at the bottom to create your template from scratch.
- Click Open.
- The label selected appears on the right side of the screen. The only required field you need to include for your labels to work in RB9 is the Address field. If the template you are using does not already include an Address field, click Add > Address.
- You can customize the look of your label templates. To:
- Edit or add text to existing label fields: Click in the field and highlight text to change if necessary, then enter text. You can style the text’s appearance using the Format and Layout dropdown panels on the left side of the screen.
- Delete a label field: Click anywhere inside the field to select it, then click Edit > Delete object or press Delete on your keyboard.
- Add custom text or images, such as your company logo: Click Add at the top-left of the window, then select the item you want in the dropdown.
TIP: Adding your company logo to a template
To customize a label template with your company logo, select Image in the Add dropdown. In the Image panel, click Browse. Select your logo file on your computer. You will see a preview of the logo you selected. Click Open to add the logo. Once the logo is added to the label, you can resize it by clicking and dragging on one of the squares around the logo to the desired size. To position your logo on the label, click and drag in the middle of the logo itself.
- When you’re done creating the label template, click
Save to save it on your computer. Remember where you saved the file so you can find it to add to your RB9 Label Templates function. To upload your label template to RB9, see Managing label templates.
