Searching notes

RB9 only

Search for notes by date, communication type, a word or phrase, or other parameters in RB9 Notes Logs.

Tools > Notes Finder
In the Search By pane, select the Notes Log you want to search in the Search In drop-down:
- Case Notes – Made in case listings.
- Contact Notes – Default. Made in contact listings.
- Firm Notes – Made in firm listings.
- Firm Collection Notes – Made in firm listings’ Collections pane.
- Invoice Notes – Made in invoice listings.
- Job Notes – Made in job listings.
- Location Notes – Made in location listings.
- Resource Notes – Made in resource listings.
- Tracking Notes – Made in tracking listings.
- Witness Notes – Made in witness listings.
No specific filter is required, but you must use at least one of the search filters with the selected Notes Log:

Entered Date From/Entered Date To

The date or date range for when notes were made. See Date Navigator.
Entered By

To restrict the search to notes made by a specific RB9 user, click . See Lookup panel.
A word or phrase in Notes

Partial/full word or phrase. For example, search Firm Collection Notes for the word, “promise,” to find notes with clients’ promised actions.
Notes Type or Action Type

Default is ALL. To restrict the search to particular ways notes were received, click (not available if Tracking Notes is selected). See Lookup panel.
Exclude Cancelled Notes

Default is Yes. Click to select No to include all notes.

Click . All notes that match the search criteria appear in the grid, most recent notes first.
Sort notes by column by clicking a column header (see Sorting rows).
To view more information associated with a note, click its hyperlink.
