Depositions can take place in a court room, a law firm’s office, your own conference room, or another location. You can enter locations manually, but you can save time and reduce errors if you select locations from your RB database.
In Location Type drop-down, select:
Default. To enter a location that is a one-off and does not need to be in your RB Location database.
To look up a firm’s offices in your RB Firm database, or create a new firm location to use for this job. (See Adding firms to RB.)
To look up a location in your RB Location database, such as a hospital or doctor’s office, or create a new location to use for this job. (See Adding locations to RB.)
To look up a location in your RB Resource database, such as one of your conference rooms, or create a new resource to use for this job. (See Adding resources to RB.)
To avoid double-booking a room, in addition to selecting the room in Job Location, create a conference room task and assign the room to the task. See Scheduling conference rooms.
To select one of your own office locations. Business Units are set in Business Units.
To select the ordering firm’s office as the location.
For virtual events like Zoom meetings.
Depending on which Location Type was selected, you can enter or edit:
RB does not automatically update a job location when you update the location in your RB database if the job has already occurred. For example, if a depo was taken at a law firm’s office, and afterwards the firm moved. RB would not update the depo’s location to the firm’s new office address, unless you click to select Yes to keep the location updated in the job when it changes in your database.
Enter location name in the field or look up location in Lookup pane. See Looking up locations. If this is an online meeting, enter the meeting’s URL/web address.
After selecting a location in an RB database, you can update your selection by clicking the Location field’s >
The uneditable Warning field appears in the Job Location pane when Firm, Location, or Resource is selected in the Location Type drop-down. If the selected location has a warning in its Entity listing, it will appear in red here.
If location was selected from an RB database, this field is uneditable.
Click > Google Maps/MapQuest Maps/Bing Maps to view job location on a map in a new window.
If location was selected from an RB database, this field is uneditable. If Location Type is Manual, default in this field is the designated BU’s city. See Entering general job information.
If location was selected from an RB database, this field is uneditable. If Location Type is Manual, default in this field is the designated BU’s state. See Entering general job information.
If location was selected from an RB database, this field is uneditable. If Location Type is Manual, enter zip code in this field and click . You do not need to enter the City or State. RB will automatically populate those fields correctly.
If location was selected from an RB database, this field is uneditable.
If online meeting was selected, you can enter the event’s URL here. If it will be a Zoom meeting, see Scheduling Zoom meetings.
If the location was selected from an RB database, this field is uneditable. If the location is a Zoom meeting, the passcode will appear.
Notes entered here are saved in the job, not the location.
In the New Job window, click Save or Save > Save & Close in the Edit Job window.
