Creating PDF transcripts

RB9 only

Generate RB-PDF Transcripts from “page image” ASCII files (ASCII files prepared in the image of a transcript) or any ASCII file which includes line numbers, page numbers and page breaks, as generated by most CAT systems and word processing applications.

NOTE: ASCII files must be properly formatted for RB9

RB9 can accept page-image ASCII files that include headers, footers, and timestamps. However, RB9 cannot accept ASCII files that contain binary code, such as borders, so borders must be removed before an ASCII transcript can be converted to PDF. You can re-apply borders to a transcript in the Select PDF Transcript Preference window (see Setting general PDF preferences).

  1. Find ASCII file to convert

You can create RB-PDF Transcripts in either:

  2. Customize settings

For the desired ASCII file, click:

The Select PDF Transcript Preferences window displays default preferences. To change preferences, see Selecting PDF transcript preferences.

  3. Verify ASCII

After clicking Next in the Select PDF Transcript Preferences window, the Verify ASCII window appears. See Verifying ASCII.
  4. Finish PDF transcript

    1. After RB9 verifies the ASCII file successfully, it converts the file into PDF transcripts. The PDF Transcript window displays the converted transcripts. In the PDF Transcript window, you can apply a stamp to the transcript (such as “Original” or ”Certified Copy”), automatically hyperlink exhibits to transcripts, attach digital signatures, set security restrictions on transcripts, and upload the files to your repository. See Finishing PDF transcripts.
    2. Click Close.
