Payables highlights
How is payables different in MR9 from MR8? If you know MR8, this section highlights the changes in MR9 from MR8 in the Payables module.
Export sales tax info to Excel
MR8 has the Sales Tax Report as a static report, but we found that clients don’t need to print it out — that just wastes paper and you can’t work with it. So in MR9 we changed it so you can export it as an Excel spreadsheet, which will be more useful.
Check Reconciliation updated
In MR8 the Check Reconciliation Report was static. You could export or print it and that’s it. Renamed Check Reconciliation in MR9, it is now interactive: You can click into any of the entries in the report to see and update details about the order — such as the patient and custodian — and the check or other payment you made.
Bank Reconciliation cleaned up
In MR8 the Bank Reconciliation function was split into 2 subfunctions. In MR9 we moved Bank Reconciliation’s Import Check Reconciliation Data subfunction to its own function. Now Bank Reconciliation is only the report of cleared and/or outstanding checks. And the data layout settings for importing check data into MR9 have moved to Settings > System Preferences so the Import Check Reconciliation Data is a function for clearing payments only.
Reward Points program built in
MR rewards points are optional plug-ins in MR8 and MR Web 8. In MR9 and MR Connect the program is included for no additional cost.
Similar to frequent flyer programs, MR9’s Reward Points system rewards loyal clients with points that they can redeem with you. You monitor, adjust, transfer, and redeem points in MR9’s Payables module. If you have MR Connect, you can give clients the option to track, manage, and redeem points online.
Removed function
In Payables you can still print checks. But if you use QuickBooks to pay custodians, you no longer need to export checks to then import into QuickBooks. QuickBooks Integrator in the Tools module has been re-designed in MR9 to make it easier to use, so we removed the Export to QuickBooks option in Payables.
